HITCH AWARDED « FIRST FILM PRIZE » AT JEAN ROUCH FILM FESTIVAL

Twenty-three films were selected for the 2019 international competition of the Jean Rouch Documentary film festival. All films develop a thorough investigation into social and cultural practices. JEAN ROUCH DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL

The Jean Rouch Documentary Festival is taking place from 15/11/2019 until 12/12/2019 in Paris. Chowra Makaremi’s film, Hitch, is part of the official selection of the Festival. Fingers crossed! This year, the « Regards Comparés » selection which is lasting from 25/11 until 28/11 is dedicated to Iran. Films will be screened at INALCO, 65 rue des Grands Moulins 75013 Paris. ENGHELAB STREET / 2019 PHOTOBOOK AWARDS

Paris Photo and Aperture Foundation announced the winners of the 2019 edition of the PhotoBook Awards on 8 November 2019. Enghelab Street, A Revolution through Books: Iran 1979–1983 received the 2019 Photography Catalogue of the Year award for “A Revolution through Books: Iran 1979–1983”, published by Spector Books and LE BAL. PREMIERE OF “HITCH” IN PARIS

Chowra Makaremi’s documentary film, Hitch, will be screened at two festivals in November: on Thursday, November 14 at 7:30 pm in Arcueil (at Les Écrans documentaires) and on Monday, November 18 at 5:30 pm in Paris (at the Jean Rouch Festival at the Musée de l’homme).
